Ikea has announced a new connected ecosystem. Object, STARKVIND, an air purifier. It will be offered in two versions, a freestanding model for the floor and a multifunctional side table. Both models are identical and can filter up to 99.5% of fine particles less than 2.5 microns, dust, pollen or formaldehyde. The Starkvind is equipped with three filters in order to capture large particles as well as dust or gases. On the integrated fan side, five speeds are offered, in addition to an automatic mode that works using an air purity sensor. The air purifier can be connected to Ikea’s Trådfri box in order to be controlled within the Ikea Home app. According to Ikea, it is designed for rooms with an area of less than 20 m². Ikea’s Starkvind air purifier will be launched next October.
