LSI Keywords – What is it?

In SEO promotion, optimizers use keywords. Without them, it will be impossible to stand out from competitors and bring the article to the top. But keys like “buy a down jacket with delivery Moscow” are no longer relevant and cause disgust in readers. LSI words have come to replace them – read as “lsi words”. Let’s talk about them.

LSI: What is it and why is it ne. Let’s understand it with examples

You are already familiar with the term ” semantic phone number library core” from our previous article . If not, here is the link: https://cinar.ru/blog/prodvijenie-sayta/semanticheskoe-yadro . LSI is a thematic core. It contains all the words that characterize and reveal the search query.

LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) is keywords and synonyms that are semantically relat to the main keyword. LSI keys improve understanding of the context of the page.

Let’s look at LSI words from several angles using three examples.

Example 1. Let’s take an online flower i resisted for a long time in my own blogging shop. In the semantic core, one of the main ranking keys is flowers. But in addition to flowers, potential buyers are also interest in relat topics:

  1. what flowers to give to a stranger to please and not look ridiculous,
  2. are there bouquets for men,
  3. how to care for roses so they last longer,
  4. help with choosing a vase that will fit well into the interior.

LSI words here: unfamiliar, to like, to look after, vase, interior. That is, this is something that can be interesting in addition to the main topic.

Example 2. A user types “paper” into a search engine. What does he mean? Is he looking for where to order it wholesale to his office? Is he interest in the manufacturing technology? Or does he even want to watch a video from blogger Vlad Bumaga?

One query can have many different

meanings, and in order to find relevant b2c fax sites in the search results , context is important.

Example 3. If Alexey from the Northern capital of Russia nes a turtleneck, he will type “turtleneck” in the search line. Sergey Ivanovich, a historian and university teacher, instead of “shirt” searches for “shirt”. And for Aunt Sveta, a shirt is generally sleepwear.

Everyone has their own empirical experience, principles, triggers, and even vocabulary. Sometimes people search for similar information through different queries. The same words can have different meanings for them, as in the case of “paper.”

Using LSI algorithms, the search robot evaluates how much the text corresponds to the request. And indexing occurs not so much due to the inclusion of keywords, but due to the semantic load of the material – so that the user, despite the peculiarities of his semantics, still gets to the right source.

There are two types of LSI keys:

  1. Synonyms (SLSI). Remember the beginning of the longread: one will look for a turtleneck, another – a turtleneck, and the third – a sweater.
  2. Relevant (RLSI). And here is an example with flowers. These are words that may also be of interest to the user.

Both synonymous and relevant keys are all components of the latent semantic analysis algorithm.
